Jay M. Robinson honored its seniors and hosted its last home swim meet of the season on 1-7-2020. Competing against Northwest, Central, and AL Brown, the girls finished in third place, and the boys finished in second place behind Northwest.
The JMR seniors and their families were recognized before the swim meet. The following swimmers will graduate in 2020: Ethan Bailey, Maddie Ennis, Madison Hill, Riley Lufkin, Corban Mills, Riley Moran, Reagan Peace, Tori Rogers, Colin Stevenson, Madison Walker, and Jillian Walters. The seniors topped off their senior presentations with a group jump in the pool.
During the meet competition, the girls posted improved times in the 200 free & 100 fly (Gracelyn Donahue), the 200 IM (Alison VanDewark), 100 free (Jillian Walters and Riley Moran), and 100 back (Reagan Peace).
The boys shaved 0.27 sec off the medley relay (Chris, TJ, Brett, Robert) and 0.43 off the 400 free relay (Robert, Jack, TJ, Chris). Other notable time drops were in the 50 free (Sean Gordick, AJ Matthews, Owen Lazarus, Landyn Sherrill, and Noah Sorg), 100 fly (TJ Spokas), 100 free (Sean Gordick), 500 free (Noah Sorg), and 100 breast (Landon Kushinsky). Chris Forsey swam a regional qualifying time in the 100 free (52.28), and improved his qualifying time in the 100 back.
Maddie Walker will compete on Saturday in the last regular season dive meet. JMR swimmers will have their last regular season meet on Tuesday 1/14 at Kannapolis. Go Bulldogs!!
