Cabarrus County Schools will postpone summer workouts for high school fall sports and band until at least Monday, Aug. 10th. This decision aligns with Governor Roy Cooper’s directives to extend Phase Two of the North Carolina Reopening Plan.
The decision also is related to this week’s announcement from the North Carolina High School Athletic Association that moves the official start date for fall athletics from Aug. 1st to at least Sept. 1st.
The official start date for middle school fall sports has also been moved to at least Sept. 1st.
As always, Cabarrus County Schools will continue to follow the guidance of health officials to protect the health and safety of our student athletes.
We are looking forward to getting our athletes back on campus safely and will update you should these plans change.
This mandatory form (NCHSAA Initial Screening Questions for Students to Participate in Athletic Activity During COVID-19) must be filled out, signed by both parent and student, and turned in on the first day of summer workouts.
